Signs QC Process

This page outlines the QC process for verifying locations of installed, removed, and outlying sign features.

This documentation assumes you are working out of the project in the location below: ...\Signs\RAS_Data_Collection_Sign_Assets\Data_Collection_Processing\FeatureAlignment_WorkingMap

  • The map holds 4 different datasets Sign Assets, Asset Locations, RAS Driven Roads, and NearMap Imagery.

Data Background

Attributes in the Sign Assets and Asset Locations dataset are controlled by attribute rules that minimize the need to modify attributes for either layer.

The only features needing QC are marked as "QC Required" and are displayed as either an Orange, Blue, Yellow, or Red square depending on the type of QC needed.

All signs need to intersect an Asset Location point (Black Hexagon). All Asset Locations are generated where confirmed assets are presents (either through mapping or the install of a Pole).

QC Process

The goal of the QC process is to match the locations of new and removed signs to a pre-mapped official asset location point.

The only features needing QC are marked as "QC Required" and are displayed as either an Orange, Blue, Yellow, or Red square depending on the type of QC needed.

Due to the attribute rules in place, a sign location requiring QC will only need to be moved so that it intersects the correct location point.

Once sign point intersects the location point, a relationship will be established between the two features and the sign point status will automatically update to "QC Complete"
