Marking Types and Sub Types
All GIS Markings assets when created need to have the following fields filled out
Markings Short Line
The “Create Features” panel will be used when creating new pavement markings assets in GIS.
Crosswalks
Crosswalks have a NUMBER_OF_ASSETS field that is based on the number of continental bars when technicians fill out the specifications field.
Yield Lines
Yield Lines have a NUMBER_OF_ASSETS field that is based on the number of yield (shark’s teeth) for a yield line.
The MARKINGS_SIZE for Yield Line is 2’ x 3’ or 12” x 18”. The Materials used to install the yield triangles will list the size of the “sharks teeth”
Stop Line and School Zone Line
Stop Line and School Zone Line do not require a NUMBER_OF_ASSETS field to be filled out.
Markings Specialty Line
The “Create Features” panel will be used when creating new pavement markings assets in GIS such as delineators, curbs, concrete domes, and wheel stop.
Concrete Domes
Concrete Domes need a number of concrete domes to be filled out in the NUMBER_OF_ASSETS field.
Curbs
Curbs will usually be tracked with the Color being “Red” or “Yellow” for tracking painted curbs near fire hydrants or medians.
Delineators
Delineators require a number of delineators filled out along with what color the delineator is.
Wheel Stop
Wheel stops require a number of wheel stops.
