# Strava Metro Data

ATD Staff access to Strava Metro Data through a sub-license from TXDOT. Each quarter, a GIS member of the DTS team receives an email with a link and password to download the data from strava. To ensure DTS staff receives emails regarding updates to this data, reach out to Carl Seifert at TXDOT: <Cseife-c@txdot.gov>

### Strava Data Delivery & Download

All Strava data is accessible via [metroview.strava.com](https://app.gitbook.com/s/-M3vG5OVht6_BV2LYSXk/active-transportation/metroview.strava.com).&#x20;

To request access, go to [metroview.strava.com/application](https://app.gitbook.com/s/-M3vG5OVht6_BV2LYSXk/active-transportation/metroview.strava.com/application)&#x20;

To download the data:&#x20;

1\) Login to your personalized sublicensee account at [metroview.strava.com](https://metroview.strava.com/)

2\) Click on the "Map" tab at the top middle

3\) Click on "Streets" on the left. This will give you all streets in Austin. See the official documentation for how to get specific segments.

4\) Choose a time period on the left

5\) Click the download button on the right.

6\) Click on the “Data” tab at the top middle&#x20;

7\) Scroll down to “GIS Data” and click “download”.&#x20;

8\) Unzip the data and save it to `G:\ATD\ATD_GIS\Active_Transportation\Strava\Strava_2019G:\ATD\ATD_GIS\Active_Transportation\Strava\`9)Create a folder for this quarter's data following naming conventions found in the `/Strava` folder.

### Notify Staff

Once the data has been saved in notify the Active Transportation and Vision Zero divisions via email.
