2. CTN Intersection Points Update

This page provides documentation for how to update the CTN intersection points data to include changes that have occurred following street segment updates.

Once updates have been made to the CTN Street Segments, it is likely new intersections will have been added or existing intersection locations may have moved. The following documentation assumes you are working out of the project at the location below:

  1. Run tool to generate modified intersection points

    • Make sure the following layers are included in the map

CTN_Intersections -> CTN Intersection layer from MAINT

ATD_ADMIN.CTN -> CTN layer from MAINT (Subject to Change)

    • Run Intersection Point Updates tool located in the IntersectionsUpdateTools.tbx toolbox (tool takes approximately 3 minutes to run)

  2. Review output layer

    • Output layer will be saved in the WorkingDS Dataset located in IntersetionUpdate.gdb. Output will be called CTNIntersectionPoints_Difference_DATEofPROCESSING

    • Review Potential Modification field to identified if intersection point is New or was Moved (this is based on 100ft buffer in processing so a quick manual review may be needed to verify)

  3. Select and append all new intersection points

    • Select all New/Moved intersection points that have been confirmed as new during the manual review and create selection layer.

    • Append all features from the selection layer into CTN_Intersection layer. Parameters to match below:

4. Manually review and correct moved intersection point locations

  • The remaining Moved intersection points can now be manually reviewed and corrected. Existing intersection points from the CTN_Intersections layer should be realigned to match the updated/corrected intersection location.
