Field Collecting

Logging into ArcGIS Collector

On your tablet, navigate to collector:

Sign in with your City of Austin email:

Opening map

Find the Bike Rack Web Map:

Collecting points

To add a point check that the accuracy of the GPS indicator is displayed in green, then click on the plus sign at the top left corner of the screen:

Choose the type of bike rack you are collecting:

Recording attributes

After collecting the point, fill out information about the bike rack:

Attaching photos

Once the attributes are collected, go back to the map view and make sure the point you just added is selected (shown with a cyan outline). Tap the paper clip button to add a picture as an attachment. You can take a new picture or choose an existing one:

Editing Data

To edit existing data tap the point on the map and confirm it has been selected. You can click on the bike rack at the bottom to view and edits its attributes:

Deleting Data

To delete data change the status to Decommissioned and write DELETE for x reasons in the CONDITION_NOTES field and email alan.deanda@austintexas.gov.
