Access a data gateway to leverage schedule refresh in your Power BI semantic model

If you want your data and report to automatically refresh on a set schedule, you will need to follow several steps to accomplish this task. Link to .

If your data sources live in the cloud/web, you do not need a enterprise data gateway and may instead use instead

How to access Data Gateway

Currently there is an enterprise data gateway maintained at the MMC. The "ATMS PBI Gateway" is maintained by Lance Ballard if you wish to leverage schedule refresh for local files.

If your data source comes from the web such as the open/enterprise data portal, Power BI dataflows, OneDrive, or SharePoint, it is recommended to use the feature to maintain schedule refresh.
