Joining Meetings

Option 1: Open Teams desktop app and go to calendar tab

If you already have the MS Teams desktop installed, open the application and navigate to the "Calendar" tab. Click the meeting you would like to join to open the details.

Click the "Join" button at the top

A screen will appear giving you some options on how to join the meeting.

You can:

  • choose to "Turn camera on" (this may be on by default, but won't join the meeting until you click "Join now")

  • choose to "Turn on video to use blur" (this blurs your background on the video)

  • choose to "Mute microphone" (this may be on by default, but won't join the meeting until you click "Join now")

There are additional meeting options:

  • If you want to "Prevent echo when there's already an active mic and speaker in the room", Click "Audio off"

  • If you don't want to use your computer microphone and want to call in the conference line using your phone you can click "Phone audio".

  • On the rare occasion you are in a meeting room fully equipped with sound and video system

Option 2: Open Teams desktop app and go to calendar tab

If you already have the MS Teams desktop installed, open the application and navigate to the "Calendar" tab. Click the meeting you would like to join to open the details.

When the meeting details opens up, scroll down the meeting details to see "Join Microsoft Teams Meeting" from the meeting details.

Click "Join Microsoft Teams Meeting"
