Location

The latitude and longitude coordinates in the travel sensor dataset relate to the radar traffic counts dataset. If you match the KITS ID of the radar traffic counts to the travel sensor dataset you will be given additional information about the sensor, like its location.

Occupancy

Occupancy in this context means how often a vehicle is detected in a specified zone per unit time. Since the data is in percentages so if it’s 95% occupied, there is a car occupying that space 95% of the time (may not be the same car but if cars are packed together, the zone will be empty only for a short time). On a busy road during rush hour, occupancy is expected to be high while at night, occupancy is expected to be low (10%) as there shouldn’t be many vehicles entering and staying in a zone for long.
