Add funding to a project

Getting started

Moped offers different approaches depending on whether your project funding is tracked in eCAPRIS (City of Austin Project and Reporting Information System):

• Full eCAPRIS Sync: Sync all FDUs from one eCAPRIS subproject with automatic updates from eCAPRIS

• Selective Import: Import specific FDUs with automatic amount updates from eCAPRIS

• Manual Entry: Add other funding and placeholders

Note: eCAPRIS funding information is up-to-date as of the end of business of the previous day. Also, Moped automatically determines the source and program for FDUs based on available metadata, but this information isn't available for all FDUs. We're continuing to improve coverage.

Full eCAPRIS sync

When to use this: Your project has an eCAPRIS subproject ID and you want all associated FDUs to automatically stay up-to-date with eCAPRIS.

1. Enter your eCAPRIS Subproject ID

2. Toggle "Sync funding from eCAPRIS" to ON

3. All FDUs associated with that subproject will appear

4. If one or more amounts, sources, or programs need an override, edit the row to see a form that:

   • Optionally enables override of latest eCAPRIS appropriated amount

     • Note: This is useful if a FDU's funds are split across multiple Moped projects, and you want to opt-out of the up-to-date amount in eCAPRIS

   • Enables updating source if needed

   • Enables updating program if needed

   • Enables a description entry

5. If you need to roll back your overrides, you can delete your FDU row and the fully-synced FDU will be restored

Selective import

When to use this: You only need specific FDUs from an eCAPRIS subproject.

1. Enter your eCAPRIS Subproject ID

2. Click "Import from eCAPRIS"

3. Select one or more FDUs from the list

4. Add them to your project

5. If amounts, sources, or programs need an override, edit the row to see a form that:

   • Optionally enables override of latest eCAPRIS appropriated amount

     • Note: This is useful if a FDU's funds are split across multiple Moped projects, and you want to opt-out of the up-to-date amount in eCAPRIS

   • Enables updating source if needed

   • Enables updating program if needed

   • Enables a description entry

Manual funding entry

When to use this: Your project needs an FDU from a different eCAPRIS subproject or funding that isn't tracked in eCAPRIS.

1. Click "Add manually"

2. Enter your funding details

3. If you select an FDU from the dropdown options, the latest appropriated amount will populate along with source and program if they are available

   • You can update the amount to override if needed before saving

4. If you do not select an FDU, you can enter the rest of the details manually

Placeholder funding

When to use this: Your project is capital-funded but the eCAPRIS subproject or FDU isn't set up yet.

1. Click "Add manually"

2. Enter funding details

3. Remove this row later when the eCAPRIS information is set up and ready to sync or import
