# Introduction to Maximo

### What is Maximo?

It's an asset and work order management system that helps you track, assets, work efforts and forecast labor and materials.

### Why do we use it?

To help operational teams with material forecasting, logging labor and time logs, vehicle tracking and asset maintenance through real-time work order tracking. It helps with performance metrics, budgeting, resource staffing, and operational efforts.

### How do you access Maximo?

* Maximo is a web-based platform that can be accessed on your computer or mobile device  ([**Maximo | Production**](https://austintexas.mro.com/maximo/webclient/login/loginerror.jsp?group=system\&key=duplicatekey)).
* For mobile usage, we use a software called EzMaxMobile to allow field technicians an easier user interface to do their jobs.
